Controversial sex robot Harmony is getting a sister, the creator of porn star-style hi-tech sex toy has revealed - and she comes with changeable faces.

Harmony's sister Solana, who comes with a new face and personality, was revealed last night at the Consumer Electronics Show is Las Vegas.

While on stage at Engadget’s After Hours show, creator Matt McMullen explained the sex robot’s life-like face is designed to be versatile - with users able to change her mood and personality with a mobile app.

Switching Harmony’s face for another, he said: “The face is actually modular, the same way that within the app you can change the personality settings and create a separate profile and separate avatar, you’re able to remove and attach a different face to the same robot very easily.

“And anyone can do that.”

With the face changed and a different colour wig added, McMullen turned to an app and switched the personality, allowing Solana to take over where Harmony existed minutes earlier.

Last year, RealDoll, best known for eerily life-like silicone sex dolls, created the artificially intelligence (AI) robotic head dubbed Harmony.

Using an app connected to the head, users are able to craft a unique personality by talking to the AI, whose algorithm processes and remembers responses.

The firm is now working to develop new, heated bodies equipped with sensors that allow them to respond to touches, and even move.

He added: “I’m pretty gung-ho now about getting movement, working on the neck down.

“I’ve built a torso that moves and gyrates. I’m working on the arms as we speak.”

During the on-stage interview, Mr McMullen said he is also working on developing male sex bots after an explosion of requests and that they will be ready shortly.

While there was much speculation recently about the inclusion of "bionic penises", Mr McMullen says that isn’t quite the case.

He said: “But yes, obviously the male robot would have the capability of having sexual parts attached to him”, similar to how the female bot does.

Mr McMullen said: ‘I’m thinking more something that would function the way the male anatomy functions would be really cool – actually able to be stimulated and become aroused.”
